From the Principal... On Monday, January 30th, there will be an evening performance where each grade level will sing. This follows an assembly provided by Steven James who wrote music for the district adopted Prevention Dimensions program. This event is a continuation from our fall Ribbon Week activities because staying drug, alcohol, and violence free is an on-going lifetime process. Grade level have been practicing the Steven James' song, chosen from his many selections which teaches many important life lessons that help students be strong. Making good choices is the theme of all the songs. The program starts at 7:00 in the multi-purpose room. Plan on bringing your children for this wholesome family night performance. I look forward to seeing you all.
Lake Ridge will be 'PJammin' for Kids with Cancer' on Friday, February 3. Our school has chosen to raise awareness for cancer with this school-wide activity. All students and staff will unite wearing Pj's to show support for kids who are battling this disease. Lake Ridge has students that are currently in various stages of cancer. A reminder flyer will follow next week.
A reminder that the Open enrollment Window is open until the middle of February. Parents who wish their children attend another school next year other than the home boundary school need to fill out the form and be approved for the desired school. This is especially important for our 6th grade students moving on to junior high. Students are expected to register at the home junior high unless this form is filled out. Junior High registration will be in the near future for both Matheson and Brockbank.
Parents, there is an opportunity to share opinions or concerns with teh district food service program. The quarterly meeting will be held February 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Bates Center 4161 West 2200 South, West Valley. Your feedback would be appreciated.
